The 8th Workshop for the project on Best Practices in the Field of Electronic Registry Design and Operation (BPER) was organised by the Cape Town Convention Academic Project at the UNIDROIT Headquarters and on Zoom on 16 September 2024. This project is supported by the UNIDROIT Foundation and Aviareto.

The Workshop had 32 participants, 25 of whom participated in person and 7 online. Following the publication of a Guide on Best Practices for Electronic Collateral Registries in 2021, the BPER Project is presently working towards the preparation of a Guide on Best Practices for Electronic Business Registries.

Prior to the Workshop, a draft of the prospective Guide had been circulated to the group of experts to solicit their comments in writing. Based on the feedback received, the objective of the Workshop was to agree upon the definitions and core content of some key Critical Performance Factors, particularly relevant in the context of electronic business registries.

A full report for the Workshop is available on the website of the Cape Town Convention Academic Project.
